Advice to Contributors

Submission using electronic mail is strongly encouraged. Articles submitted via e-mail should be sent as attachments in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. If submitting by post, authors should send a PC-readable floppy disk or CD containing their article in Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format. Once an article has been accepted for publication, the final version should be submitted electronically to the editors in a format agreed on with them. The language of publication is English.

Length: 3000-6000 words for an article, up to 4000 words for a research note or report, up to 1000 words for a book review.
Abstract: Each article should be summarised in an abstract of up to 100 words.
Author: Each author should provide their full name, title and affiliation, full details of postal address, telephone number, fascimile number and email address. Authors should also include brief biographical details for each named author (no more than 50 words per author).
Format and references: The format and references should follow the published guidelines of the American Psychological Association (5th Edition). Footnotes should be employed only when necessary.. Tables and figures should be designed to fit into one column (70 mm) or two (145 mm).

Submission of a paper to The Journal of Distance Learning will be taken to imply that it represents original work not previously published, that is not being considered for publication elsewhere, and that the contributor has all obtained all necessary permission and paid any fees for the use of copyright materials. Contributors therefore undertake to indemnify the DEANZ for any loss occasioned in consequences of any breach of copyright. The Association is not responsible for opinions or statements of authors in this journal.

Contributors of articles accepted for publication will receive one free copy of the issue of The Journal of Distance Learning in which their paper is published.
