Mark is Director, Blended and Distance Education at Massey University. He has specific responsibility for policy and strategic direction in the areas of blended learning and distance education. Mark has over 20 years experience in the university sector and is an Apple Distinguished Educator and recipient of a National Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award for Sustained Excellence. He has a particular interest in the policy landscape and pedagogical applications of new learning technologies. He originally trained as a primary teacher and continues to supervise postgraduate research across education sectors. Mark serves on several international editorial boards and plays an active role in a number of professional associations. He currently represents Massey University on the Ako Aotearoa Reference Group.
