Dear DEANZ member
Welcome to the first Flyer since the DEANZ AGM in June.
At the AGM Derek
Wenmoth, Marica Sevelj and Nick McGuigan were confirmed as
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer respectively. It was with great
regret that we received the resignation of Carol Cooper-Taylor from the
role of President for health reasons.
So, I am now the new DEANZ
President. My name is Sally Rawnsley. I've worked in open and distance
learning for nearly 30 years, starting as a teacher of foreign languages
at the Correspondence School and moving into a wide range of roles at
the Correspondence School and more recently at the Open Polytechnic of
New Zealand. For the last 15 years I have managed the design and
development of learning materials, an role which nicely combines my
passion for education with my interest in management.
The DEANZ focus for the coming year will be on providing tangible
benefits to members. Please feel free to contact me if you have ideas on
how we can do this better. In the meantime, look out for the next
edition of the Journal and the discussion groups that will be set up to
follow it.
Check out the Executive Committee membership on the DEANZ website and
keep in touch with us. We're keen to engage with you.
Sally Rawnsley
DEANZ President
Note from Flier Compiler.
I’ve delayed this news a little over the past fortnight on the mistaken belief I needed to get everything here. But it is a moving target and I will never get a complete snapshot. EFest has been and gone, another successful event. Most eCDF projects have finished, a few of these are mentioned here.
Please let me know of any news, links or contact you have.
- Local research papers
- eCDF updates
- conferences
- Blogs or wikis
- Inititives of note in the Distance/Flexible field.
