Government e-initiaitives:
"Over the last two years, the Ministry
of Education has been developing IT-related strategies for the
tertiary education sector. These include a Tertiary Information
Strategy (http://www.step.govt.nz/download/tis.pdf)
and an Interim Tertiary e-Learning Framework (http://www.step.govt.nz/elearning_news.asp),
and the creation of web portals for the tertiary sector (http://www.tep.govt.nz)
and for tertiary e-learning (http://www.telp.govt.nz)"
"The Tertiary Information Strategy
has initially focused on administrative needs of the sector,
using open interoperability rules and standards, but will need
to broaden to include the implications of e-learning.
The Interim Tertiary e-Learning Framework will eventually
be superseded by one that will encompass the schools, early
childhood and tertiary sectors" - From notes in some of
the publicity before Murray Leach's talk in Christchurch on
19th May 2004. [While I know this is starting to look like a
BLOG, that is because we may head in that direction] [Added
