Getting There:

By foot
Te Papa is located on Wellington’s waterfront and is within easy
walking distance of the city’s railway station, central business district,
and major hotels.

By bus
Most Wellington buses travel through the city centre via Courtenay
Place, very close to Te Papa. Ask your driver for help. For more
specific bus and train routes and timetables, contact Metlink on
(04) 801 7000 or http://www.metlink.org.nz/.

By car
Travelling south into the city, take the Aotea Quay exit from the
Wellington motorway. Continue along Waterloo, Customhouse, and
Jervois Quays, which lead directly into Cable Street. View maps here

From Wellington Airport
Catch a taxi or bus. If you’re driving, turn left along Cobham Drive, turn
right at the Evans Bay Parade lights and drive round the harbour via
Oriental Parade, then right into Wakefield Street, right into Taranaki
Street, and right into Cable Street.

Parking
Open and covered parking space is available at Te Papa seven days
a week: $3.00 per hour up to a daily maximum of $12, or $6.00 for the
evening if you arrive after 5pm.

Te Papa caters for a variety of visitors with special access needs.
Before you come to Te Papa, feel free to call the Enquiries Centre,
(04) 381 7000, and let us know your interests and needs. During your
visit Te Papa Hosts are available for assistance and information.

Manual wheelchairs are available at Coats, Bags | Koti, Peke on Level
1. They can be booked by phoning the Enquiries Centre on
(04) 381 7000.
